For my last family spring break at home, my family spent a week in the great white wonderland of Lake Louise in the Banff National Park. We stayed in the old Canadian Pacific railroad resort with beautiful views of the snow capped Victoria Glacier and lake where we ice skated and hiked to frozen water falls; the setting is magical complete with an ice-sculpture castle. Each day we took the shuttle to the ski area which was enormous with plenty of powder and paths. My siblings and I are sailors not skiers, but we had an epic time racing to the bottom of runs, finding jumps in the trees, and eating fondu/drinking hot coco at the alpine lodges. Just like when I'm sailing, when I’m skiing the natural world feels very close. Here is a video of our week in Lake Louise:
